President signs an executive order for quantum computer cybersecurity.
President Biden signed an executive order on Wednesday that established the National Quantum Initiative Advisory Committee. This committee will be comprised of 26 experts in quantum computing and cybersecurity, and will be appointed by the president in the coming weeks. The advisory committee is intended to preemptively strategize and implement national cybersecurity policy for quantum computers.
“Quantum information science (QIS) can enable transformative advances in knowledge and technology for industry, academia, and government,” the president stated in the order. “Accordingly, the National Quantum Initiative (NQI), which aims to ensure the continued leadership of the United States in QIS and its technology applications, is a substantial and sustained national priority.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the president as he considers the individuals who will comprise the board.
- For the advisors who will be appointed to have wisdom in their approach to quantum cybersecurity.
- For the president’s administration as officials work toward the most beneficial plan for America’s technological future.
